Laser protection cabins
The (statutory) effective protection against laser radiation

Laserschutzkabinen

Should your employees be exposed
to extensive health hazards?

Laser facilities can produce extremely intensive, strongly concentrated radiation through the effect of stimulated emission in the area of the visible light or in the infrared or ultraviolet spectral range. Laser radiation can cause damages through photochemical, thermal or optomechanical impacts.

Predominantly, there is the risk of irreparable eye damage.

For this reason, the current regulations for the prevention of industrial accidents (BGV 11) stipulate exact operating instructions and distinguish between various degrees of radiation hazards caused by laser facilities.

The distinction is based on the differing degrees of exposure to laser radiation, rising from class 1 to class 4.

When using lasers classified as class 3 B, fire and explosion hazards may occur.

Radiation of laser facilities classified as class 4 is so intensive that damages are to be expected in the event of any eye or skin exposure.

Therefore, the regulations for the prevention of industrial accidents state:

"The employer has to ensure that laser areas of class 3 b or class 4 laser facilities are confined and marked during operation."
